Adjacent to the High Lonesome Lodge and overlooking the Continental Divide and the Devil’s Thumb Ranch resort property, stands Axel’s Pavilion - a 3,000 SF open-air timber structure designed as a rustic yet upscale picnic shelter for resort guests. Stout wood posts with moss rock stone bases support a long timber-trussed roof structure that covers a terrace deck for groups of 200+. Rows of thick wood picnic tables offer casual seating for dining or listening to live music and a large firepit at the west end of the structure is a handsome gathering feature for keeping warm or roasting marshmallows. The recent addition of heavy canvas tent panels enhance the rustic appearance of the structure and permit its use during all seasons.
